Ayran is the name of a traditional Turkish drink, which is made from yogurt, water and salt. As a rule, it is served next to sheep meat preparations, but it is a healthy and refreshing drink for the summer.
150 ml plain yogurt
150 ml of cold water
3 g sea salt (iodate)
Method of preparation
Put all the ingredients in a blender, then start mixing at low speed.
Increase speed and continue mixing, another 2 minutes. You have to get a fine, homogeneous drink.
Serve the ayran after sitting in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Optionally, you can serve ayran from ice glasses.
Store the ayran in the fridge, in glass containers, like milk.
Be careful to weigh the salt exactly, because if you put too little you do not get the authentic taste of ayran, and if it is too much, you will get an extremely salty product.
