Did you know that 90% of skin cancers are curable if detected early? *
About 200,000 new cases of skin cancer are diagnosed each year, where melanoma (one of the most aggressive malignancies) is one of the fastest-growing cancers in terms of new cases per year. Under these conditions, the La Roche-Posay Laboratories and IPSOS conducted an exclusive * global study in 23 countries, on a sample of 19,569 persons, women and men, 15-65 years old, who research attitudes and perceptions towards exposure. and skin cancer prevention. The results show the following:
- 88% are aware that the risk of skin cancer is closely linked to the lack of sun protection during sun exposure;
- 1 in 2 persons was never at a dermatologist's control of the moles;
- Only 1 in 3 people check their own moles at least once a year.
Thus, La Roche-Posay launches for the second year in a row, the international campaign BECOME A SKINCHECKER (www.laroche-posay.ro/saveyourskin), an online social campaign, with the mission of raising awareness about skin cancer prevention and the importance of using sun protection in its prevention.
There are two important factors in the prevention of skin cancer: sun protection and dermatological control. In this regard, La Roche-Posay Laboratories have developed in addition to the sun protection for sensitive skin Anthelios XL and the Day of Sun Protection campaign, where you can benefit from a free consultation with the dermatologist for the verification of the moles.
